Hello! My name is Chasity, I just finished leading the Aspire DTS here that ended a little over a month ago. As I reflect back on the last few weeks of the school I am still overwhelmed with so much gratefulness for God’s grace and mercy toward us.
The Outreach team came back from Costa Rica on fire for God’s Kingdom and Good News to be spread everywhere at anytime. It was absolutely beautiful to see the transformation each individual went through during the 8 weeks of the school. I’ve recounted this verse a lot when reflecting back but it is just the truth of how good God is toward us, Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work with us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.”
Amen, I just need to echo that, because it is the perfect summarization of the end of the Aspire DTS. We had two weeks together for debrief and graduation, and I do not think a day went by where we were not voicing this truth to each other. Realizing that God will always further exceed our expectations or even our wildest imaginations when we surrender to His lordship and walk through each day with humility and obedience. The moments and decisions that were made that were confusing and unheard of in the middle of the school, all made perfect sense as we ended our time together.
The testimonies spoken brought forward how everyone’s trust in the Lord deepened and strengthened in intimate ways during the school. It all comes down to trusting God and the work he wants to accomplish in us that is always done through a relationship with him. All for his glory to be shown, so that we may boast in nothing else but him. One of my favorite remarks from one of the students on outreach was this, “We may not speak the language, but we all can speak the language of love.” This is the kingdom. This is the Good News. This is the Body of Christ. God is love, and I know the Gospel was shared many, many, times during the course of the DTS, sometimes with words, sometimes with actions, but always with love.
With that I will just say that I am so excited for everyone that was a part of this DTS. The speakers, the students, the staff, and anyone else that was part of those 5 months. Because God was working in all of us to show his power and glory in so many ways and in all the details. I’m excited because we are all equipped to go and be his light wherever we may go next and whatever we may find ourselves doing. Because we serve a good God that will do exceedingly and abundantly more when we are available and willing to aspire to do life with him!
