Ciao! Elisabetta here!
I am Italian, born and raised in Verona, a city full of history and art. In 2020 I walked through the door of YWAM Trentino, curious and eager to grow in the likeness of Christ. I’ve been here ever since, first doing my DTS and then joining the team. I started with staffing and leading DTSs and then got invited to join the core team and now I get to lead this base together with Johan. I love seeing how Global Mission goes hand in hand with impacting our home here in Trentino.
I joined as the first Italian student and then as the first Italian staff member, and this has marked my path as a pioneer for many more young Italians to step out of their comfort zone and be sent into missions and a life of adventure with Jesus. I see YWAM Trentino as a place of holistic discipleship where we train, equip and send out people from every nation to bring the hope of Jesus to the nations and our neighbors at the same time!
I love to see a community that is a home for many, a space for everyone to walk in their callings, and an environment where people are challenged to go beyond what they thought is possible. I'm someone who gathers people and I love to bring them along. I believe that the gospel is not a private individualistic matter. It urges us to share AND journey with others. I am so excited to be on this journey together!
Hello, my name is Johan Knol.
I am from The Netherlands and since 2020 married to Iohana from Brazil.
I did my DTS in Amsterdam in 2013, which impacted me tremendously. Because of that I have been part of YWAM ever since. I have a big passion for missions, training and cultures. A perfect combination for DTS. I have been part of many DTS’s and looking forward to leading and facilitating more in the future.
My heart is seeing young people catch a passion for cross cultural Missions and enabling them to do it well.
We have been part of YWAM Trentino since April 2021. Italy has been our home and our son Judah was born here almost 2 years ago. In October we are expecting a daughter. We love and embrace the Italian people and culture and hope to be a catalyst for transformation to see Italians go into the world to be part of God’s Great Commission.
